I know many of you, certainly most US readers, are still feeling the winter chill right now, so I hope you’ll enjoy a continuing tour of the South of France to give you a vision of the wonderful sunny days soon to come your way.
I do have a penchant for beachy environments and certainly for the fun French beach clubs. By the way, the word “club” doesn’t mean you need to pay a membership fee to visit. You can come for a meal, or rent a lounge chair and just relax, or just stroll in for a drink or two, or take a few photos and decide if you’d like to stay or not. Things are pretty relaxed in this section of the world.
In addition to the creature comforts I enjoy while visiting these places, while there I am always gleaning notions on how I can incorporate some of their lovely “salty” elements into my home so my family, friends and I can always enjoy the casual, elegant, natural beauty of this coastal lifestyle.
In addition to the Anjuna beach club, we were fortunate to have the smaller, but equally warm and welcoming Papaya Beach Club just down the way on our beach in Eze~bord~de {or Sur}~Mer. This cozy coastal hut serves lunch and dinner, during peak season. The fun and funky facility is also available for private parties. One night we walked by it on our way to Anjuna, and loved seeing all of the colorful Sari’s adorning the women attending a party there, the exotic music and soft lighting wafted out onto the rocky beach as we walked by.
On our way home, after dinner at Anjuna, we shared surprised giggles with the pink sari~clad guests, when we caught the gentlemen of the party having a late night dip.
Papaya stayed open a little later than Anjuna last year, probably because it is much easier for this smaller facility to “batton down the hatches” when the weather turns. We actually had a balmy mid~October lunch there, and then snorkled home!
If you are ever thinking of throwing a fun beach party in France, I recommend you call them.
It would be my pleasure to throw in my party planning services for free!
Thanks for continuing on my journey with me,
Xoxoxo,

Emily,
These are my kind of clubs!!! We go to something similar in Mexico when we visit my father-in-law who has a house down there. Laid back living!!!
Wishing you a beautiful weekend and continued charmed journeys!

Elizabeth, I used to spend a lot of time in Mexico. There is just something about a day on the beach at these places that is so relaxing and pleasurable.
