A drop of sunshine…please

What a lovely Spring we had here in the PNW yesterday, it was warm and sunny and the fragrance of the flowers was positively intoxicating.

But now the season, as we like it, seems to be over {today, it is cold and gray, again}. This year, we’ve had the coldest April since they began keeping track of such things. The forecast for the weekend, and Saturday is the opening day of boating season, calls for even more cold and rain.

A fellow PNW blogger, at I Dream of, Jeanne, {isn’t that darling?}, did a post recently on our mutual love for lemon yellow, citrus groves and warmth. Just seeing her images helped me to warm up. So, I thought I’d continue this tangy theme by musing on some of the splendid spots I visited on my recent roam through California, would you like to come along?

After Santa Barbara, we departed for the desert…where we had the chance to pass through these inviting doors and hang out at The Parker.

I loved this bright and cheerful little lemon bar near the pool ~ the doors on the back wall have the recipes for refreshing, lemony drinks.

Just seeing this overflowing scene of citrus again is making me feel a little warmer.

If I were there, ordering my drink of choice, the only dilemma I could imagine would be choosing where to go with my refreshing bev.
Would it be better to sip while sitting beneath the lemon yellow umbrellas,

or while playing a rousing game of boules?

Maybe it would be perfection to lounge in a hammock, just because.

  • Thanks for the shout out, Emily. I'm feeling warmer already, but think I am going to have to peruse your lovely images a few times today to stay that way. Gosh, is spring over? Hope not!
