My Funny Valentine
I learned this fun, whimsical art form at my children’s preschool school and I’ve been playing with it ever since.
Swirly Valentine |
All you need to make these hearts is a sheet of paper cut into strips (I used construction paper), clear tape, double stick tape and a pencil.
Personalize the strips if you wish.
Valentine message |
Twist about 3/4 of the paper strip around a pencil or pen and hold it tight for a few seconds.
Once twirled, tape the two flat ends together, out side in…
Then bring the curls together, with the tape on the inside.
Use double stick tape to attach the curled ends together (tight or loose curls — your choice!)
In a few minutes you’ll have a handful of swirly, curly hearts.
What a lovely, light decoration for your Valentine tree.
Valentine Tree |
To add glitter, paint one side of the the paper with glitter glue and allow it to dry before cutting.
Glitter heart |
The double stick tape doesn’t hold the heart as well if there is glitter, you may need to use some extra clear tape on the non-glittery side.
