Are you ready to sit back and relax and enjoy a calorie~free feast for your eyes?
I hope you had very nice thanksgiving celebration with your family and friends. Today, I am sure, you could use a moment or two to yourself, so I thought I’d share with you highlights from an amazing art exhibit we enjoyed in Prague last week.
Monet, Manet, Cézanne, Renoir, Degas, Pissaro.… I’ve always loved the French impressionist artists for their distinctive brush strokes, pure colors, realistic subjects, scenery and passion for painting in the outdoors or en plein air.
Then, last weekend, on a jaunt to Prague, I was introduced to a new set of names including Slavíček, Radimsky, Samalova, Preisler, Kuba, Schusser and Svabinsky. Turns out, these artists were also stepping outside of the studio during that era and focusing their eyes on nature, familiar people and real life situations with their paintbrushes in hand, sometimes working with their western counterparts and creating some extraordinary art.
After touring the Prague Castle we ventured down the hill to the former riding school on the grounds.
Here I was absolutely amazed by the grand display of over 500 works of Czech impressionist artists at The Light Within a Picture exhibit which will run through the beginning of January 2018.
Here are some of my favorite pieces from the impressive exhibit, feel free to just scroll through, but if you want to dig a little deeper into this movement click on the links to learn more about the artists, it’s fascinating.
Okay, now go off and do something beautiful!
