Sacramento really rolled out the striped picnic blankets to welcome food bloggers from all over the world to this stellar conference.
Beginning with a picnic lunch on the grounds of the Capitol building catered by local favorite Nugget Market a high quality food store with locations throughout the Sacramento Valley and Marin county.
Previously the “City of Trees”, Sacramento is now officially called the Farm~to~Fork Capital in acknowledgement of their rich agricultural valley that bring fresh fruits and produce to our homes year round from the nearly 8,000 acres of boutique farmlands. We got to experience first hand the quality and plethora of the products grown here as we ate and drank our way through the 2-day conference, at the same time we soaked up an abundance information on writing, technology, photography, food styling, and so much more.
All of the seminars were very tempting, as were the tastings. Thankfully, on Sunday morning the local 9run6 running club helped us justify all the amazing delectables that would be coming our way that day by taking us on a morning jaunt to see the sites of this city including the majestic Tower Bridge,
Which is actually painted a shimmery shade of golden, making it look like some sort of massive crown
stretching over the bustling Sacramento River.
Just over a week before the IFBC Sacramento hosted “Wide Open Walls” where artists were invited to paint enormous murals on many of the buildings around town, here are some of the highlights.
After our 3 mile jog on that crisp, sunny morning it was back to the conference center to learn more about the blogging world.
The next conference is in New Orleans, I’m already signed up. HERE is how you can too, I highly recommend this. If you have any questions, be sure to send them my way.
