Bazar et Chiffons pour les petits cadeaux and so much more…

When in a foreign land, it’s hard to know where to go for life’s little necessities. After 6 months in Eze, I had scouted out where to go, east of Nice, to find the odds and ends needed for daily life. When I realized I needed another adapter after I arrived, I zipped off to Bazar et Chiffons in Beaulieu~sur~ Mer. When we were living in Eze, this is where we went to find all the little amenities for our apartment.
My itty bitty pocket; My darling wallet; My pretty wallet

This sizable store is packed with a little bit of everything, and the prices are reasonable: dishes, espadrilles, curtains, mirrors, art supplies, hardware, decorations, beach bags, cover ups, towels, extension cords, wrapping paper, pet supplies, etc., etc.
AND they are OPEN ON SUNDAY AFTERNOONS!
A rarity in France.

My found objects; Mirror my beautiful Mirror; Beautiful from head to toe

When I’m traveling, I always try keep an eye out for unique little gift items that I can tuck into my suitcase to stock my “present pantry” at home, things that I will hopefully not see in a catalog the day after I get back. I think I really scored at Bazar et Chiffons when I found all of these whimsical cosmetic bags with funny French sayings.

Beauty of the day; Beauty of the night; Beauty everyday

They didn’t have the exact adaptor that I needed, so I went to the “electronics store” {my name for it}. To get there just walk towards the town square from Bazar et Chiffons, take the first left and the electronic store will be up the hill, on the right, towards the end of the block. Here you can find electronics galore, irons, toaster ovens, and a wide range of adaptors, converters, cords {and more espadrilles}. The man who runs it is very helpful and friendly.

Fresh as a flower
Oh, but if you go to Bazar et Chiffons, it’s not you, the help is just plain cranky.
I think it is in their employee training manual that they are not allowed to smile.
Bonne journée!

  • Sounds a little like the Madison Park Hardware meets Martha Harris 🙂 Isn't it nice to find a reliable resource like this, especially overseas? Even if the training manual calls for crankiness. Happy Weekend, Emily! XOXO
