The beauty of decorative painters…

Well, we don’t all have the decades it would take to develop the charming patinas we observed in the French Quarter for our own abodes. But, thankfully, over the centuries, artists have developed many methods for recreating such rich aged looking beauty even in the most modern of settings. I’m so thrilled to share that this year my very talented friend and former colleague, Cathy Conner has brought to Seattle the International Salon of Decorative Artists from May 1st through 4th.
I’m looking forward to the opening event, Thursday night, May Day {!} from 4-8pm and you’re all invited join me at the ornate Great Hall of Seattle’s Union Station {see details below}. Together we can welcome artists from all over the world and watch them create a bit of history right before our eyes.
This selective group first gathered in Belgium in 1992, since then talented collections of qualified artists have been coming together at amazing locations all over the world to share their passion for decorative art.
The creativity will continue throughout the weekend from 10 – 5 Friday through Saturday, 10-3 on Sunday. More than 100 artists from 25 countries will be demonstrating their talents and techniques.
The event is free and open to the public.

I hope you can make it to the 19th Annual International Salon of Decorative Painting, and if you can’t, don’t worry, I’ll be sharing some of the highlights soon.
Please join me and everyone involved for a reception to welcome all the artists who have come so far to celebrate the opening of Salon Seattle 2014 and 1st Thursday
