I went to a fabulous little al fresco dinner the other night at the home of my dear friend who’s just returned from her extended stay in the UK. Her best buddy from NY joined us and showed up with a most stunning hostess gift, a bottle of Crystal Head Vodka. This handsome hunk is one of Dan Aykroyd’s latest ventures. The sauce itself is filtered through crystals and the bottle is Bruni glass made in Milan, Italy. Doesn’t it look lively reflecting the warm colors of our hostesses colorful caftan and necklace?
As fabulous as life in London was, I can understand why she came back…. just look at the view from her house on Capitol Hill in Seattle. I think it looks more like a painting than real life.

Oh Emily!
I just spotted this vodka on the liquor store shelf while on vacation and couldn't pack it home.
Love vodka – but that bottle is amazing! Gotta look for one here at home….
Question about hostess gifts – we are attending an engagement party soon (wedding in Sept 2013). It is hosted by the brides parents at a friends home. How many gifts do I take and for whom?
If it matters: We will be hosting the bridal party Party at our home during the week before the wedding.
Thanks so much for the help! 🙂

Hi Linda, I think I'd just bring a gift to the friend who is hosting it at her home. I am just thinking that if you bring something for the brides parents, then they have to keep track of it and bring it home, etc. I think I would just send a thank you note to the parents of the bride, and if you are really moved maybe drop off a little bouquet. Sounds like a wonderful group of friends that you are all so involved in this wedding….makes me smile!
