splendidly spoiled…

A great group of dads and kids collaborated to continue a marvelous tradition on Sunday: a communal Mother’s Day brunch. I must say they really out did themselves this year!  It was a yummy
day for a lucky group of mummies!
The buffet made my head reel with the selection and beautiful presentations.
I loved the coral roses aligned with this succulent coral king crab.
Continuing on the coral and succulent theme, this salmon, simply poached with onions, tomatoes and citrus was as delicious at it was beautiful.
Is there a dish that signifies al fresco dining more than a salad caprese? I loved the choice of grape and cherry tomatoes in this version, with plenty of roughly torn leaves of basil and a sprinkle of pinenuts.
Mother Nature did her bit too, offering us a wonderfully warm and sunny day.

Wonderful food and an idyllic setting plus vinos and desserts galore led to an afternoon when the world slowed down just a bit,

to~do lists, emails and phone calls seemed to fade away and lingering with good friends and family became the most important focus.
Thank you dads and kids for creating such a splendid day for us!
Um, Moms….. Father’s Day is coming up….we’d better get planning….. I’m happy to host!

  • What a great tradition! So glad the weather was so gorgeous too…looks like you had a stunning view of the lake for the big event too – wondering if that's your view every day and if so, lucky you! 🙂 Regardless it looks like a fantastic, delicious spread.

  • Emily – This makes me long for my group of friends (their husbands and kids too) in Tacoma!
I especially love that either, these Dads are culinary wonders or they know who to order from – it does not matter when it looks and tastes this good!

And some of those kids are watching and learning from their creative Mom "just how she likes it". 🙂

I think you all got the weather you deserved!!!

    Cheers!
