help!
I’m in a stall pattern and need some advice…
I had a couple of days at home to unpack and repack before heading back to California with the family. While home, I was reminded of a project that I’ve meant to complete, but, I must admit, I don’t quite know how. I’m wondering if one of you might have a helpful notion.
You see, I have been trying to re~cover the cushions on my family room couches for quite some time. It has been years since I first had them made, and now, these dear old fabrics have provided a pretty seat for about as many bodies as possible and need to be replaced. I have been looking for just the right blue and white patterned fabric for ages, a fabric which is fitting for my beachy, cottage~like home. But, so far, I have not found “it”.
Do you have any ideas?
There are splendid prizes involved {details below}!
So, here it is…
The Challenge
I have two “couches” in my family room, one is a dark rattan and the other is a painted white willow, both vintage.
By the way, in addition to fabric, I have long been on the hunt for another white (or paintable) willow couch of a similar vintage to the one on the right, above to replace the dark rattan couch (on the left), any leads on such a piece will also be splendidly rewarded.
These seat covers and pillow covers zip off, allowing me to change the look seasonally. The Brunchwig and Fils pattern on the pillows below is the spring/ summer look. The fabric on the seat cushion is a piece I wrapped on to consider, and then left on, because I didn’t want to see the old fabric anymore!!
The blue velvet and the blue and yellow patterned cushions on the white willow couch below are the original winter covers. The blue and yellow Provencal back cushions got squeezed in sometime later in the game!!
I am seeking a blue and white patterned fabric, I’ll just leave it wide open.
The Bigger Picture
The walls in the room are a pale butter yellow with white molding. The room is furnished with an eclectic mix of beachy and Frenchy pieces, as well as more blue and white.
The Prizes
In addition to my everlasting gratitude, anyone who sends me a recommendation for a great blue and white fabric or information on where I might find the willow couch of my dreams, will receive a set of coveted and useful Splendid Market post-it notes.
If you send me an idea or lead that I use, I will send you some coveted and useful Splendid Market post-it notes, 3 boxes of perfectly practical Splendid Market candle matches ( 3″ long),

Pam at Red Ticking could set you up with the perfect vintage piece –she posted some lovely white wicker yesterday. And there is plenty of gorgeous blue and white fabric for plump pillows over at the Ticking, too. How about an over stuffed cushion in a Belgian linen on the seat, with some blue and white vintage pillows on top?
Such a fun project!
