and bye~bye blackbirds
We had some feelings of melancholy on our last day in Santa Barbara. This was a wonderful trip with great friends. The laughs, warmth and chances for long talks made it a very special
she-esta, indeed.
Before leaving, we hit the Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Club for a casual lunch. Most everything at this sprawling club, situated just above the roaring Pacific,
was, well, quite coral…
…a splendid combo with the blue sea,
and sky.
A hug and kiss goodbye from my favorite local leading man helped to soften the sadness.
{yes, Jeff Bridges…yes, he was as fabulous, mellow, kind and pleasing as you would imagine, and he smells like patchouli oil! …I don’t want to gush, but do let me know if you’d like more details!}
But, I still felt a need to wander the lovely gardens of the Biltmore Hotel a little longer, taking in all of the details.
This ficus, also known as a strangler tree was a study in itself.

The palms were majestic yet, relaxed, sort of like the hotel itself.
Aren’t these prehistoric looking fern furls amazing?
I missed my ride,
but still made it to the airport in plenty of time.
I love living the best of both worlds.
Gracias y adios,
the place looks relaxing. i sure hope you have a fun-filled day there.. 😀
