Twisted Twigs
This has been a topsy~turvy week for me. It always seems to take awhile to recover and regroup after a vacation.
Our travels last week brought us into a splendid snow storm in Sun Valley, a few days with dear friends, laughing, cooking, skiing, dining, catching up…

What a pleasure that the trail also took me to another creation by the fabulous Patrick Dougherty. Speaking of topsy~turvy ~ this man takes branches and twigs and shapes them into the most marvelously twisted abodes.

Last November I was really twigging out in New York, the culmination of that series was a visit to Patrick’s creations at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden (click on twig to learn more about this installation and the artist).
There is a naturally warm and inviting essence to these structures, even on a snowy day in January in Idaho, or a cold and windy November day in New York. Everyone who sees them feels drawn to them to explore, examine, exist and enjoy.
The complexity of the materials and designs are {I never use this word, because I feel it is so overused, but in my mind, this is an appropriate usage} awesome.

I’m decorating for a fun party this weekend. I have a stack of branches outside awaiting “treatment”, so, there will be more more twig stories to come.
How is your week running?? Smoothly, I hope.
Take care,

What amazing structures!! I love these organic creations – and you're right – they are so warm and inviting!! Looking forward to seeing your twig designs for your party!
