I loved these tasting notes from Laurent-Perrier, describing my most favorite champagne, their Brut rose.
Appearance: Elegant, with color changing naturally from a pretty raspberry hint to salmon-pink.
Nose: Precise and very crisp. Wide range of small red fruits: strawberries, red currants, raspberries and black cherries. Its amazing freshness is the dominating note.
Taste: Intensely fruity flavors, clean, well-defined and slightly sharp, the wine then opens up to provide an impression of plunging into a basket of freshly picked red berries: strawberries, Morello cherries, black currants and raspberries. The wine is supple and rounded on the finish.
I hope you had the chance to sip something splendid last night!
We are up in the mountains — enjoying a winter wonderland. If all goes as planned, I will be riding one of these:
The Mt. Rainier Gondola |
up the mountain,
The Mt. Rainier Gondola, Crystal Mountain |
to the highest restaurant in Washington state – The Summit House, for a lovely 1/1/11 dinner.
As of New Years Eve, there was still work being done on the new gondola at Crystal Mountain.
But the King of the Mountain told me that it is going to happen (and that he’ll be at dinner as well!)
John Kircher, Crystal Mountain |
Here is the Swiss cow bell given to him from the gondola company. The plaque says “Sincere Appreciation from Dopplmayer, To Crystal Mountain, Inc., Mount Rainier Gondola”.
All of Crystal Mountain is hopeful and celebrating!
Happy New Year!
