Greetings from New York

We’re having a splendid little visit in New York, and I’m loving every festive detail this city is putting into place.
While walking across the park, I loved seeing this charming row boat in front of the Boat House in Central Park. The only passenger was a sweet Christmas tree, adorned with lights (I wish I were brave enough to run over for a photo after dark).

The co-op buildings on many blocks have chipped in for a “scissor lift”

to wrap all of the trees with lights.

There are are many lights set up already. Here are the best I have seen so far: these trees covered with pale blue LED lights,

and the lights on the Fendi store on Fifth Avenue. What you can’t see is the lights that “fall” down, like dripping diamonds. It’s stunning!

Wooden stands are set up every few blocks waiting for the massive trucks, filled with Christmas trees to come by and deliver a small thicket.

The Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center is already strung with 5 miles of lights and topped with a Swarovski crystal star, all ready for the tree lighting ceremony on Tuesday, November 30th.

oh, and by the way —  Santa Claus has come to town (sorry for the far away shot from between the tall buildings!!

It’s (nearly) Christmas time in the city!
