When I was thinking about my Thanksgiving table setting I knew that I wanted to use this Maison d’hermine tablecloth but I didn’t have any napkins that went with the colors of this complex paisley

and the greens of my The Autumn china by Lenox I wanted to use.

So, I found an old set of white napkins that I haven’t used in years and ordered a bottle of Dylan Olive green machine dye.

I followed the instructions on the bottle and hung them to dry.

Then I pressed them

folded them

And voila! I had the perfect shade of cotton napkins to set the table I had envisioned. On the Maison d’Hermine Kashmir Paisley tablecloth I placed The Autumn dinner plates and I alternated the salad plates, here with one by GDA Limoges

and this is from Emma J Shipley.

The napkins are such a great neutral color I have used them for 2 other events since then and the color has held great with multiple washings.

I love taking “after shots” of the dining table, don’t you?

Now I need to start contemplating the Christmas table… I have some more sets of white napkins I could dye!
