I hope you are having a lovely Easter and that some splendid signs of spring are revealing themselves in your area.

In celebration of the change of seasons I thought I’d share a few shots of what I’ve been most enjoying as spring begins to unfold here in the PNW.
Mr. Splendid and I drove and took the ferry to the cabin on Orcas Island in the San Juan Archipelago

and took the Farm to Market Road home.
We were a little early for the famed Skagit Valley Tulip Festival but the daffodil fields were spectacular.
We stopped at Snow Goose Produce, a family owned institution that offers a selection of local produce, flowers, plants, a massive pile of market baskets from Africa {I swear, the pile never goes down}…. but the greatest attraction seems to be their significant ice cream waffle cones.
I don’t have any shots of these impressive cones because I am one of the few people who doesn’t like ice cream, I also don’t like blackberries or the scent of peonies.
Do any of you dislike any of those things?
I think I’m the only one.
Anyway, I was quite pleased to put a dent on the basket pile and to walk away with one of the African baskets in my favorite shades of blue and orange {which I am exporting to the South of France on Tuesday}, a dozen perfect farm fresh eggs
and an armload of White Lions Head Daffodils {see the fabulously~in~full~bloom~version at the top of the post}.

A few minutes after leaving this enchanting farmers market we understood the name.

Returning to Seattle, I was in awe, as I am every year, to see our favorite tree{s}…. two flowering cherry trees that grow intertwined with bark thickly covered in velvety emerald green moss
in full bloom.
Again, happiest Easter wishes to you and yours, I am looking forward to spending the day and evening with dear friends from far and near.

Happy Easter to you Emily!! Your cherry trees are spectacular and those daffodil fields are amazing!! I'm afraid the only part of that list I don't like is blackberries – I wish I didn't like ice cream but I do adore the scent of peonies!!
