Winter citrus fruits adds a rich level of warmth and a breath of freshness to halls decked for the holidays. When presented with the opportunity to prune a fruit~laden lemon tree while we were in California, I jumped at the chance.
In fact I filled an entire box, checked it on the plane and now have an abundance of sunshine to layer around the house. The irregular look of these fruits and the leaves and branches makes the display look all the more interesting to me.
The leaves emit the most glorious fragrance.
Of course, you can do something similar with store bought fruit, a lot of stores stock satsuma oranges with stems and leaves on this time of year, or you can check with your produce buyer to see if they can order some. Wholesale florists sometimes carry fruited citrus branch as well.
Or, fake it with any hearty leaves you have available mixed with greens. They look great mixed with crystal.
And will really make the room pop when piled in any container you have around the house that suits your style surrounded with evergreen,
or not.

This is just gorgeous, especially in the knobby texture of the fruit. I love it! And it makes me think to smile that while I was gathering pine cones, you were gathering les citrons. 😉

This is such a lovely original idea and the lemons add a touch of colour to all the greenery. Gorgeous too in the blue and white Bowl. Merry Christmas!
