It was a little shocking to my system to come home from the balmy weather in Indian Wells to chilly, drizzly Seattle. I was only there for a few days, enjoying the PNB Paribas tennis tournament with a fun group of girlfriends, but while I was away, the scenery in Seattle definitely changed.
Driving home from the airport that night I noticed the light reflecting off of the puffy clouds of cherry blossoms, which had popped open like magic during my absence.
To welcome me home, my daughter had rescued these branches of buds from a gardeners truck. What a welcoming sight this was! I’ve left most of them outside and this monstrous display of pink blooms has been putting a smile on the face of everyone who enters the courtyard for over a week now.
As impressive as the display is in it’s entirety, I love the intricate beauty of the individual blooms and buds that make up this arrangement,
and all of the blossoms in the stages in between.
The contrast of the pale pink petals against the weathered, mossy, dark brown branches adds to the drama.

Your daughter has pluck to scavenge off the gardeners truck. Even in our own neighborhood there is treasure to be found. Yesterday I met one of my neighbors for the first time when I got her attention while diving into her dumpster. So Fun!
