A Gift Guide ~Something for Everyone and a giveaway too!

December 5, 2013 By splendid 3 Comments

I’m so excited to share some of my favorite things with you in a series of Gift Guides this year. I’ve selected objects I think you and yours will use, enjoy and treasure. Some of the items are old favorites that you may have read about here before, and some are new. This first collection has a little Something for Everyone. Coming up will be guides focused on Him, Her, The Kitchen, Entertaining and Stuff for the the Sporty Ones, so please stay tuned.

Keeping in the spirit of giving, one of you will win a beautiful bottle of luxurious Prosecco Home Ambiance Perfume from our friends at Antica Farmacista, see the details on how to win at the bottom of the post.

And now, here it is…

Gifts for all

1
These substantial Reed and Barton Sleigh Bells  (under $28 at Amazon right now!) are a Christmas Classic. I buy one for each of my children every year, in the hopes that when they start their own Christmas traditions one day, these will bring back favorite memories.

2
 This is high on my list this year! By attaching these little tiles (starting at $19) to the necessities in life {eggnog, keys, handbags} you can keep track of them on your phone {just be sure to attach velcro to your phone to keep it near!}

3
The Hammond’s Candy shop has been making treats the old fashioned way for generations. The candy canes ($2.95 each) and ribbon candy ($18.95 for a set of 4) are as beautiful as they are delicious. And the caramel covered marshmallows ($13) are just ridiculously luscious! Read about our visit to the factory by clicking on delightful, and click on traditional to see more of their Holiday Confections.

4
I can’t imagine life without my Restaurant Readers ($19.95). I keep them on my night stand at all times, they are my perfect partner for late night list making and reading. When I’m traveling, they help me find my way around the hotel room without going bump in the night. And, as the name implies, they let you read the menu with ease in even the darkest, most romantic restaurant. I like these so much I even gave a pair to a reader a few years ago.

5
Social Q’s ($19.91, hardcover) is THE modern day guide to social interactions. Philip Galanes {who writes the column of the same name in the NY Times} is frank, funny and full of good advice. He’s is such a splendid fellow, he even gave a signed copy of his book to us for a giveaway when it first came out, read all about it here.

6
Many people don’t realize this, but Seattle chocolatier Fran Bigelow made the original Salted Caramels ($30.00 for 20 pieces), a confectionery creation that has swept across the globe. Share the originals, which taste as elegant as they look, with the ones you love.

And now, something for you…
I hope you found some things here for those on your list, and now here is what we’d love to give to you!  Our friends at Antica Farmacista have offered to give large bottle of their luxurious Prosecco Home Ambiance Perfume, to one lucky Splendid Market reader.

Great ideas, Emily. You can never go wrong with Fran's, one of my all time favorite gifts for the hostess – and for myself! Hope that you are staying warm! XOXO
