I had a chance to take a sneak preview of an amazing trunk show that will be happening in Seattle this week, November 19th and 20th. My dear friend, with whom I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing her continent, Africa, is now bringing a beautiful bit of Africa to us.
Handbags…
The designer Anna Trzebinski, like my friend, is an African native. She works with local tribes women in Kenya to embellish quality crafted bags, pashminas, jackets and accessories with indigenous materials and traditional crafts to create objects with a unique global style. For the talented crafts women, this relationship brings respect and income.
Pashminas…
For us, here is a chance to indulge in a unique collection of luxury African creations. I tried on several of the jackets tonight, the buttery goat skins from which they are made are so soft and feel so second~skin comfortable, these are pieces you will want to wear live in for years.
Jackets…
Here’s one of a number of fantastic cotton blazers made from traditional cloths.

This is all amazing. I have heard of Anna before and know firsthand from my travels in Africa what an incredible difference designers who are committed to working with local artisans can make. Am hoping that the trunk sale is a smashing success!
