This time of year we end up eating tomatoes like they are candy, they are so sweet and ripe and delicious. We slice them up for salads and usually have a bowl of rinsed cherry or grape tomatoes sitting on the counter to be enjoyed as a snack.
The only thing I like better than garden fresh tomatoes is the scent of the tomato vine. If I see one I touch it so I can smell that distinctive, fresh scent on my hands for awhile. Years ago, Votivo used to make an incredible Tomato Vine scented candle that I loved to burn all through the summer months. But I haven’t found that candle {or many Votivo products} for years.
So, imagine my elation when someone brought me this tomato bougie parfumée from Jonathan Adler {he’s just opened a shop in Seattle ~ yay!}. I was so happy to have this lovely smelling ruby goblet in my kitchen. The only thing is, the scent is a little too subtle for me…. sorry Mr. Adler….
But receiving this thoughtful gift reminded me of this pleasure, so I went on a little hunt and within minutes, my fingers found a handful of other options. I’ve ordered a few of these, which I will put to the sniff test, and report back.
What are you enjoying from the gardens these days?

Hi Emily.had no idea he came out with candles..thanks for the review, I love my candles but need them to have a big scent:)
I know, if I am lighting a candle for scent, I want to smell it wafting about. This one was a little disappointing in that regard, just too subtle.
A reader just sent me an email about another candle company Pickwick and Co. out of Kansas City, MO, they have beautiful looking candles and one is "Tomato leaf". I am going to the midwest this weekend, so I am going to be looking for this brand. It looks as if they only sell to the trade on~line, but here is the link: http://www.pickwickandco.com/
