I’ve retreated to the islands for a few days, to our cabin on Orcas in the San Juans. We had a great weekend with the kids, their friends, our friends. But now I’m on my own here, writing about some of my favorite inspiring things about this summer and taking care of a little island business.
Splendidly surrounded by fragrant sweet peas and roses, the picnic table on the deck is my “office” on this unusually hot summer evening. The level of serenity, here on the Salish Sea, aside from the chorus of night birds and our squawking eaglet, is nearly overwhelming.

In and amongst these peaceful, verdant surrounds, I’ve been reminded that Google Reader will no longer exist as of tomorrow.
So, the best way to continue following {or beginning to follow} Splendid Market going forward is with Bloglovin’. I’ve been using Bloglovin’ for awhile, and though I’m not in favor of dropping “g”‘s at the end of words, I’ve found it is a fantastic tool to use for following your favorite blogs, learning about new blogs of interest and for sorting your blogs by topics.
To follow me using Bloglovin’ just click on Splendid Market.
I look forward to continuing to share with you the best of what I am seeing, tasting, trying, doing, smelling, and so much more.

J – I hear it is scorching to the north. It is up here as well. I took care of all of my in town errands this morning and am now back on the deck for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Stay cool!

Teresa, thank you for being on top of things. You know, at first, this felt a little lonely, but now I am really enjoying my little retreat.
