To me, an important part of French village life is finding a familiar place, what’s know as a “third place“, where you can have a coffee, a casual meal, interact and linger a little if you’d like. Le Beaulieu is that place for our clan. Okay, it may be these comfy orange banquettes that first attracted me, because I am in an orange era, and all of my accessories seem to be orange these days….
well, almost all.
I was also pleased that they had the wifi code printed on the check they left me with my coffee so that I didn’t even have to ask.
Le Beaulieu is conveniently located just across the street from the main square where there is a daily produce market.
The orange banquettes are on both sides of this indoor/outdoor seating area. The indoor area is furnished with very shapely, comfortable chairs upholstered in orange {of course} crushed velvet and trimmed with brass studs, no less.
They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I haven’t tried the “Energie breakfast” yet, but will if I am really dragging some morning, I’ll let you know if it helps.
I have had the “Americain” on a couple of occasions, it is served on a silver platter and fit for a queen! It includes all of this and eggs prepared as you like, this certainly gets me through the day nicely!
On Friday nights they have a fun band that plays for happy hour and well into the evening. The music echo’s through the town, adding a festive feeling even if you are dining at another restaurant or just walking through the village square.
On top of all of that, the staff is fantastic. I’ve had the same server every time I’ve been there, she’s beautiful and friendly and will speak to me in whichever language spills out of my mouth. She’s always happy to answer my questions about shops, casinos, verbs conjugations, you name it! Sometimes in the morning, I’ve seen the staffs darling children there waiting for the bus to take them to school, which just adds to the comfortable charm.
Did I mention that they serve a delicious cappuccino with a fabulous milk froth sprinkled with cocoa powder??
They do.

Definitely looks like my kind of place – cheerful orange decor and your amazing breakfast. How I miss real French bread – it just doesn't taste the same outside France no matter how hard they try!!
