Liguria Finale is divided into 3 boroughs, the section on the coast, the center of the town {Finalpia} and, further inland, Finalborgo, which is in enclosed within these ancient medieval walls.
Inside the town is bright and lively, filled with shops and restaurants.
The area is a prime location for mountain climbing and hiking, so sports shops and guiding outfits are in abundance. See the soaring mountains at the other end of this alley?
This is a great place to wander the narrow, curving passageways just to see what you may see. The village is pretty small, so it won’t take long.
It’s filled with interesting architectural elements,
and these festive flags are strung throughout.
The Basilica of San Biagio is a highlight in the town.
The massive facade of rough limestone is a contrast to the rustic, colorful village.
Once inside, the contrast continues, the Baroque interiors are lavish, elegant and immense.
It was built in the 17th century over the earlier medieval church.
Back outside, the village square is teeming with locals, sitting, talking, playing, it is truly a quintessential Italian village and well worth a visit.
Caio!
