Our party location, Escala, offered a cozy, covered outdoor area with a roaring fire. Even though the evening was a little misty, it was an enticing scene. To add a little fun to the event and give guests an additional enticement to slip outside, we had “cigarette girls” circulating, providing guests with cigars, cigarettes and candies. They also carried little fold~up notecards, which guests could use to send a special message to their Valentine.
I found a couple of wooden drawer liners that were the perfect size for this purpose. After spraying the trays gold,
I glued ribbons to the bottom, and secured them with brass tacks.
The ribbons tied around the waist and the neck of this lovely volunteer, a HUG, or Huskies United in Giving, devoted to Seattle’s Children’s Hospital {from the University of Washington}.
These custom matches were the perfect finishing touch. Click here to find out how to do this for your next par-tay.
The Eleanor Henry Reed Guild devotes the majority of the monies we raise to the uncompensated care fund, to ensure that everyone who enters the hospital receives the care they need, regardless of their ability to pay….lots and lots of love to all…
do you need these for your next party? Let me know, I’ll send them to you!

Love the gold trays, the studded pink ribbon and the packaging – but do people still smoke?

What kind of gold paint did you use? I have used gold spray paint in the past but it never really turns out metallic like that…

Q ~ must admit, cigarette sales were minimal. We just wanted to offer something in addition to cigars {I don't think there were a lot of numbers there either}.
I think, more than anything, it just set a fun tone for the evening.
Megan, I used 3 different spray paints, but I think the one you are referring to is one I bought at Michael's, which the called "24 carat", though the can didn't clarify that there was actually gold in the can.
Thank you!
