It’s always a pleasure to get settled into the cabin on West Sound, Orcas Island.

Our friends have spoiled us with these yummy peanut butter filled taffy chews from a classic confectionary company in California, click on Dewar’s to learn more. |
On Saturday morning we headed into Eastsound for the market and the Fourth of July Parade, here are some festive images..

The Fourth of July Parade began as we finished up our business at the market.
 |
The Orcas String Studio played the most wonderful diddy’s on the back of this large truck in the parade.
The songs were so sweet, I got a little misty. |
 |
I think these boys had the best time in the Orcas 4th of July parade, yelling threatening comments to the crowd as they bombed down the parade route. |
After the parade, we were thrilled to secure the perfect outside table at the exquisite
Rose’s restaurant for lunch.

My flower score from the market |

We loved this rose at roses, usually I shy away from the darker red colors, because they tend to taste too sweet and heavy but this Cote-du-Rhone was delightfully refreshing. |

Cheers! |
My friend stopped by Rose’s with his newly restored “picnic bus”, we’re planning an outing for later this summer…
This was originally used for touring Mt. Rainier, the top rolls back to allow all of the passengers to enjoy the views above.

peace out. |

Happy Fourth!
What a wonderful place to enjoy the 4th. The weather looks absolutely gorgeous. That touring bus made me smile – what a great idea. 🙂 Happy 4th of July to you and your family as well Emily!
