I love this effort for the blogging world to devote a day to focus our thoughts on the devastating situation in Japan. In my efforts to learn more about the organization behind this effort I was not able to find out what percentage of the donated funds went to the people who are suffering.

If I hear from “Japan with Love” I will let you know. I have no reason to believe that they will not be using your donations efficiently, but I don’t want to recommend a cause without being able to tell you all of the facts.
Personally, I have donated to Direct Relief International. This organization was rated as being efficient in fundraising for the past 8 years by Forbes magazine. Their fundraising and administration costs are all covered by other sources so 100% of the donations they receive go to programatic work (i.e. people in need). DRI has negotiated with medical supply companies and Fed ex, so that for every $1 donated, they are able to provide $30 (wholesale) worth of product. To learn more click on DRI.
I think the important point is that we all take time to focus on Japan and to decide what we can do to best help those who are suffering.

Just wanted to say I love your new header again today – Are you going to continually change the photo? Beautiful!
