Oh la la!! I have missed you!! I was essentially blocked-out of the administrative pages of Splendid Market for the past month, can you believe that? I’ve had a busy travel schedule so it’s been hard for me to carve out the time to figure out exactly what the problem was. Well, after many frustrating hours on hold, some bad advice, and finally, some good advice, I am finally up and running again. In the end, I had maxed out my storage capacity at nearly 1000 posts {I can’t believe there are that many!}
So, now I’ve increased my territory up in the clouds and am looking forward to filling it up with plenty of interesting notions to inspire you to enjoy the splendid pleasures of life.
For today, I thought we might enjoy the tranquility of Musée Volti set in beautiful, fragrant Villefranche~sur~Mer. Antoniucci Volti lived in Villefranche and the family donated his voluptuous sculptures to this museum located in the Citadelle Saint-Elme overlooking the harbor on the conditions that the entrance would always be free and that visitor would be allowed to touch the sculptures.
The magical indoor-outdoor setting of the museum entices one to wander, explore and linger. The sculptures, made of bronze, clay and copper stand out beautifully against ancient backgrounds, rich in texture and patina.
As is the case with most villages along the Riviera there is a limited menu of colors that can be used to for the buildings, this maintains the visual charm and beauty of these towns.
Stone vaulted rooms and walkway add to the complexity of the facility.
In the summer months concerts and outdoor movies are played on the grounds.
Alright, I think I shall sign off now, here at Endormie {sleep} to chill out a little and recover from the stress of getting this problem sorted out.
Enjoy the rest of the tour.
Bon Printemps {Happy Spring}!!
