On Monday I joined one of Pink Pagoda’s dreamy Blue and White Affairs. At these color celebrations bloggers are invited to share their most scintillating blue and white images, what a gorgeous collage of color it is. With all of the Seahawks fall~de~rall that’s been going on it wasn’t until today that I had the chance to sip my morning latte and explore all of the incredible postings of blue and white beauty at the bash.
I shared a posting from an incredible house I stayed at in Mexico, Casa Mi Ojo, where shades of blue and white took on a different accent combined with weathered woods, terracotta and bougainvillea beneath an incredibly brilliant sun.
As much as I love the blue and white color combination, I also love blue with green. To see my festive Seahawks green and blue lit palm tree with exclusive drip~drop lights I personally imported from France {have any of you seen these in the US yet? I hope not, I’m hoping I have the only ones :)} click on 12th woman. I loved the comment from one of my neighbors, “it felt like there was a party outside your home” {day made 🙂 V}
In contrast to that Mexican sun I mentioned, it’s extremely cold here in Seattle and much of the northern US this week. These chilling temperatures make one of the first signs of a change of seasons even more welcome for me. Every year my heart warms at the sight of the plump bright green buds of quince that appear on these thorny, leggy brown branches. In fact, it’s branches of quince that inspired me to publish my very first post on Splendid Market, over 700 posts and 6 years ago {next week}.… what a great journey it has been!
Each one of these green buds is about to burst open to display a delicate pale green and white blossom. By bringing them inside you can enjoy this dramatic transformation and fill your home with a hint of things to come with ease, see the first post for more tips on doing this successfully.
The freezing temperatures did not keep the spirit of Seattle down today. The Seahawks victory parade down the center of downtown started at 11 am. Some schools cancelled classes, businesses were closed and this morning I saw so many cute families all bundled up in blue and green waiting to take the bus downtown in the wee, cold hours of the morning.
While we’re speaking of blueish beauty, I want to thank Navy & Orange {another one of my favorite color combos}and Mane Message for the gorgeous hairbands I won in their giveaway. The sparkly navy and green bands were the perfect combo to sport in my mane today.
Thank you both, they’re beautiful.
If you haven’t already, it’s not too late to pop over to Pink Pagoda’s blue and white bash to enjoy a luscious feast for your eyes!
Thank you so much to all of you who have made my years of blogging so interesting, fun and inspiring!
