Stormy Seas, Eze Bord-de-Mer…

It’s not all sunshine and palm trees here in the South of France. Being right on the Med the weather can change dramatically and quickly.
Here are some shots I took of a big storm brewing on the horizon one evening. I loved the contrast of that dark wall of clouds against the aqua sea. The storm hit the area and drenched us with hours of strong winds and rains that made this Seattle girl proud.

As the sun set the colors became even more dramatic.

By morning, most of the clouds had been blown away but the huge seas were still rolling in from Africa, pummeling our sea wall {as they had been all night}.
I always have to take all of the pots off the railing when these storms come from the south because the waves actually come over the wall.
The southern storms are a surfer’s delight, they dawn their wet suits and ride the waves until they can’t ride anymore.
How is your weather? Any snow anywhere??

  • I love Eze, one of my chums just bought a place there so I hope to be popping over next year as part of my annual Cap Ferrat, Cap D'Antibes trip – unless I get to LA!

  • Emily, As you may know…. the Pacific has been throwing her best at Washington, Oregon and waay down here in Southern California.

It was a gray 68 here and I was out walking the dogs striped down to a t-and jeans (still warm). Passing a teenaged girl in her big sweater, jeans and Uggs she smiled and observed, "it's SO cold!" She looked so Christmasy and here it only lasts a few days. 🙂

    Cheers!
