Traditionally, my tree at home is decorated with an eclectic mix of ornaments collected over the years. We have so many ornaments, from generations of collectors, that “theme” trees have never been an option for me. So, it was nice to have a chance to start with nothing this year and to be able to decorate with splendid objects I found along the way.
Antique chandelier crystals are prominent on my tree, they added lots of sparkle and reflection.

I found the crystals in bins at the antiques market in Nice. They looked pretty grimy at the time,

but a with a little soapy water they were restored to their shining glory in moments.

To celebrate a months of hard work, learning and fun, L’Institut Fraçais put on a very nice graduation party for our class… among other things, we all sang La Vive en Rose together and sipped French champagne.

I’ve always had a thing for corks, and I just couldn’t see these pretty little momentos going into the trash. So, I brought them home.

They made their way onto the tree as well.
Some, au naturel, and some with a frosting of sliver or a sprinkling of silver beads.

Strings of Chanel beads were just too perfectly drapey to leave off the tree.

For a natural touch, pine cones, a variety of pinecones made an excellent addition.

Most nontraditional for me, I went with my daughters choice for blue lights.

At night, they turned our simple little tree into a Splendid Sapphire Sapin.

Your sapin is so lovely and the chandelier crystals look amazing. I'm a fan of pine cones and cinnamon sticks too on my tree but the Champagne corks are such a good idea.
