A Frosty Forested Holiday

Getting twiggy with it…
If I were try to tell the tale behind the decor at Splendid Market this year I would say “my inner forest nymph took a walk on a frosty morning after a storm, where she found a can of silvery spray paint and all of these splendid branches and baubles”.
While I have given some consideration to this set up (and collected some of the items over the years) — it would be pretty easy to go out and collect some branches, boughs cones and leaves to create some similar scenes at the very last moment.
These lichen covered branches were misted with a metallic sliver paint and arranged in a vase covered with a birch sleeve from Pottery Barn. I decorated the branches with green glass balls, glittery snowflakes, chandelier crystals and a frosted birds nest.

It makes a great table tree.
The mantles are decked with fallen pine boughs, silvery branches, pinecones, bundles of frosted firewood and of course, candles.

In the living room there are pillars covered with a dark, glittery bark from Pottery Barn.
While the family room mantle has a mercury glass tree and chalices for candles.
Green, sparkly pinecones droop from garlands over the dining room entrance.

Inside, the table is a scatter of objects one might find on the forest floor. I love using this blue tablecloth and votive holders from Anthropologie for the holidays.
Every guest will have their own little vignette while dining.
The deep colors of the forest are wonderful, but bundles of white branches and red amaryllis mixed in help to make the season bright.
