Apres Ski Party
Raclette is a “dish” traditionally served in the Alps. It’s basically melted cheese poured over boiled potatoes, with a lot of other delights mixed in. Raclette machines are available in the states (see Splendid Items). In the far left in the above photo, you can see ours, it is a flat cooking surface on top with small handled trays beneath. On the top one can grill sausages, ham, tomatoes. In the handled tray, cheese is melted, alone or with additions.
This is great party fare, set up the spread and then let everyone get creative! Guests prepare their plate and then pour the melted cheese over their creation. We like to include cornichons, sour cherries and dijon mustard in the mix.
We set up our buffet in a little gingerbread forest.
Also on hand, a Fruit de Mer stand with oysters, king crab legs and prawns.
Crudite with Green Goddess Dip.
Some Merry Beverages.
A little Eau de Vie, outside by the fire for the late nighters!
