As the seasons change it’s a good time to peek in your powder room and make sure it is guest ready. This is a tiny powder room, but with the help of a faux bamboo corner etagere it can be stocked to handle all of your guests needs.
On the top shelf, a Chinese porcelain bowl filled with lemons, a display of lemons in bright and long lasting, it’s nice to have something “living” in each room.
With the lemons is a bottle of Aqua home fragrance by Antica Farmacista. Aqua is a fresh, clean scent which will remind you of the ocean air. We love the clear, blue color, similar to the Agean!
Come party day, you may want to switch out the lemons for a bouquet of flowers, fragrant daphnes are a good choice (a post on growing daphne is coming soon). Daphnes flower in the late winter, the fragrance of the flower is spicy and intoxicating.
On the second shelf an unassuming looking porcelain box loaded with little things your guests may need during the evening, here’s a look inside…
bobby pins, safety pins, qtips, cotton balls, perfume, concealer, eye pencil and an assortment of lip colors (a variety of minis are available in the splendid items section on this page).
Also, matches, for lighting the candle on party night.
Shelf three, plenty of linens at the ready. Some people like using colorful, soft folded paper towels for easier clean-up.
On the bottom shelf, extra toilet tissue. In the enameled box, feminine items, just in case.
The glassybaby on the sink is loaded and ready to be lit.
The hand soap is also from Antica Farmacista, this is pico verde or green fig. After washing, your hands will smell like you have just held a green fig or fig leaf — they have managed to bottle the best smells in nature!
Antica also makes a pico verde hand lotion. Hand lotion and soap are available in Aqua too, as well as many other fragrances.
The lights are turned up in these photos so everything can be seen well.
Before your guests come, be sure to dim the lights so they can enjoy the flicker of the candle.
Oh, how nice to have one less thing to worry about on the day of your next gathering.

Thanks for coming by Emily! I think today we might have some sunshine…I get a little “funky” with too many dreary days! Good for you going to NV, sunshine does lift one’s spirits…but….Seattle is lovely, one of my favorite cities.
Great post on powder rooms…a good reminder to take a look!
Blessings….
