Oh my, after all of the busy festivities of Christmas and our trip I am now getting back to reality and trying to regroup for the coming year.
It is cold and drizzly here in the PNW. The kids have gone back to school and my dining room table is covered with all of the Christmas decorations that I need to organize and put away. The tree is still up, and looking grand, but we are peeling off the decorations and the lights. I’m actually looking forward to seeing it bare one more time before it gets unceremoniously heaved to the sidewalk to be collected {I won’t let Mr. Splendid do it until the night before because I can’t stand to see it lying out there, so undignified}.
Since things are looking a little dreary here…. how about we go back to Harbour Island??
In addition to the shutters, I loved the contrasting colors of the fences and walls that surrounded the charming cottages on the island.
I find the natural patina of weathered paint to be so enchanting, especially when it reveals another brilliant color beneath.
Flowers add to the beauty of the homes and shops and look especially beautiful against more neutral colors of paint.
This name aptly describes the lifestyle on this island, also know as “Briland” by the locals.
This lovely blue picket fence is from one of my favorite shops here, The Blue Rooster. It was loaded with beautiful and unusual resort ware, jewelry and gifts.
Here’s a delicious scoop of blue and white, for those of us who love it, courtesy of our friends at The Blue Rooster.
Let’s hope nobody has to use this door anytime soon.
Transcending.
I’m also trying to get a few resolutions written down.
Have you made any?
Okay, must get back to work now.
Hoping that you are further along in your holiday clean-up than I.
xo,

That shelter door must bring back memories for those who used it.
Like that cute little small bell.
