I am on a bit of a mission over here, in the souse of France {as my French roommate used to pronounce it} that is keeping me quite busy. I’ll tell you more about that later. Things have been a bit intense, but the upside of that is that I can’t even consider giving into any symptoms of jet lag.
So, I must say, I was most appreciative when I found myself at this groovy little beach club in Eze at the end of our first day. There is nothing like a beach club to put me in the mood for the best that summer has to offer. There is just something about sitting in a patch of civility in the midst of a wide open ocean that is very special. We had missed lunch, and they were just setting up for dinner, but we sat and had a cool drink and a moment to stare at the Med before heading “home”.
I don’t know exactly what is in my future, but I know that someday soon, I hope to return to the Anjuna beach club in Eze~bord~de~mer and rent a few loungers,
or hopefully multiple loungers, because I’ll have so many fun friends to lounge with me.
It would be dreamy to have a long, leisurely lunch here,
that morphed into a festive dinner here.
Which chair would you choose?
The level of detail that has gone into creating this stage for informal fun is positively pleasing to all of the senses. The gnarled driftwood supports along the bar suggest many a twisted tale.
And the “weathered wood” suggests a long, colorful and layered history.
My sole criticism of the Anjuna Beach Club is the presentation of “silk” flowers. I don’t believe in this anyway, and in the south of France, where I find myself drooling over the abundance of jasmine, citrus, herbs, gigantic fig trees, palms, etc. that are everywhere, there is just no excuse for faux flowers, as far as I am concerned.
However, there are many other elements which will quickly distract your eye from this oversight. The pitched roof with teak beams and some blend of reeds is accented with rustic hanging lamps;
and the abundance of turquoise, against teak, reflects the beauty of the of the view {the sea}.
Funky looking benches that seem to be made of old rowboats can be found throughout the space and they truly capture the imagination.
I’m showing you a group of eclectic highlights, that may seem overwhelming, but the club decor is actually quite serene, organic and hospitable.
Here are the his and her sinks guests can use after a visit to their respective wc’s. Who wouldn’t melt into a relaxed mode while doing a quick foof in the mirror with this background?

Thank you so much for the invitation to join you here. (tell us again why you had to wait for a return visit to rent a lounger) I will take a seat at the table in one of the green chairs with arms.
I will happily doze, chat, read and laugh out loud at anything remotely funny, draped over my orange lounger.
Cocktails or wine and enough fruity water throughout the day will cause me to believe that I have never looked so beautiful, as I will, standing in front of that mirror washing my hands.
