To Switzerland we have roamed. Howr, Switzerland, to be exact. After flying into Zurich, we drove to this little town on a idyllic arm of Lake Lucerne.
There are many things I love about Switzerland and this general Alpine region..I love the orderly charm.
I also love the blending of cultures and languages (partially because, when I open my mouth in a foreign land, I never know which language is going to come out). Swiss, French, German, English, Italian, they all work here.
Our hotel Sternen Horw was decorated for the holiday in a natural, festive style. As is the tradition in Switzerland, the proprietress hung symbols of spring and renewal on bare branches.
One of the things I really enjoy when travelling is studying the “gadgetry” popular in other cultures. This morning at breakfast, I found the egg cooker to be quite curious.
They had a lovely little bar set up to allow guests to prepare a boiled egg to their desired level of firmness.
To begin the process, the fresh egg is placed in the holder, and submersed into the boiling water.
Flip the “minute glass” and the sand lets you know if you’ve waited 3, 4, or 5 minutes (I am guessing this is a Swiss product).
When cooked for the set amount of time, the egg can be moved to the cool water.
